  1. Make a Mustache on a Candy Cane

    Sunday, December 2, 2012

I will admit, I am soooo over the mustache trend.  But something really funny happened last week and I just couldn't resist making these candy cane mustaches!

I posted a tutorial at Dollar Store Crafts last week for some adorable Reindeer Candy Cane Treats.  A few fans commented on the DSC Facebook page that they had thought the project was a mustache!  It really cracked me up!  When Heather, the creator of DSC, joked that I should make mustaches, I couldn't stop giggling about the idea.  So I made a few!

These are crazy easy to make.  Cut a bump chenille stick in half.  Twist it around a candy cane stick.  Use a pencil to "twirl" the ends of your mustache.  That's it!

And that, my friends, is the difference between a mustache and a pair of antlers!

Have fun flaunting your 'stache this holiday season.  Maybe make it in white so you can look like a young Santa.  But then we're all moving on in 2013...because mustaches are so 2011.  :)

Hilarious! I love it! I wonder if you can make other variations too (i.e. handlebar mustache). This would totally make awesome props for holiday photos :)
