Test tube necklaces

I made these fun little test tube necklaces for my kids for Valentine's Day.  I filled them with candies, but I wanted it to be something that they could later fill with little notes, glitter, or whatever interests them.

I found the test tubes at Mindy Mae's Market, a deal a day site that has lots of fun crafty and home items.  I embellished them with various things.  Would you believe that the words are actually made by wrapping grungeboard in silver tape (that I found at Big Lots in the tool section!) and then stamping them with my metal stamps.  I love that it looks like metal!  I added twine and charms to complete the necklaces.  The kids really liked them, more for the candy than the necklace, I think, but that's OK!

I'm toying with the idea of making these to sell, maybe as party favors?  What do you think?

Our funny little Valentines

I saw this idea on Pinterest and again in Family Fun magazine.  I was so glad when my boys said they wanted to make them!  They are very excited to take these to school!

I imported the template and traced it in Silhouette Studio so I could cut it out with my Silhouette.

I hope you have a SUPER Valentine's Day!

Die Cutting Challenge

Cath is hosting several fun challenges at Moxie Fab World, one of them being the Die Cutting Challenge.  Check it out here and play along!

Being a Silhouette owner, I LOVE to cut out shapes for my cards.  Here are some recent designs I've come up with:

I love how these snowmen silhouettes came out, but I hate that I haven't been able to capture it in a photo!  I will keep trying but this is the best I have for now.

With this card, I cut the image out of a double sided glue sheet.  I adhered one side to the cardstock, and poured microbeads on the other side.
I did the same thing here but adhered white flocking powder to the adhesive.  It looks like snow!

These are two fun summer cards.  This one says "Let's hang out!"

"Stuck on you!"

Thanks for taking a peek! I hope you have a fun day!

Embossed Birthday Card

This card is for Andy's birthday.  :)
I stamped and embossed the background.
Then I smeared on distress paint in antique linen.
Next I stamped the car (a Tim Holtz stamp).
Finally, I made the funny sentiment with my Dymo label maker.

I hope this made you smile today!

I am linking this with the embossing challenge at Moxie Fab World.  Check it out here so you can play along!

Teacher gifts for Christmas

I know, it's almost Valentine's Day and I am just now getting around to posting what I made for the boys' teachers for Christmas.  Better late than never!

The rings and bookmarks/paper clips were so easy to make!  Just use some E-6000 to glue the resin flowers (also called cabochons) to the glue pad on the ring blank or clip blank.

The tags are more involved but so fun to play with!  I painted the wood tags with distress paints and let them dry.  Then I cut the shapes out with vinyl (using my silhouette) and adhered them.  I stamped on the back of the tags. The red and green twine were all I had at the time so they don't match (cringe) but I have a ton of twine now so next time they will.

The matchbooks were cut using my silhouette.

Thanks for looking!  I hope I inspired you to make something today!
