Create Unique Candles with Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club

Dollar Tree is often my first stop for crafting supplies, so I was thrilled to learn about Dollar Tree's Value Seekers Club.  It's a free online site where you can get TONS of ideas for crafts, recipes, decor, and other frugal ideas.

Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club runs crafting and recipe contests (among others) and the project I chose to replicate was the winner of one of Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club Crafters Challenge Contests.  I fell in love with a winning project called "Table Lights by the Sea" and decided to make my own.

This idea is so simple yet beautiful that I found myself saying "Why didn't I think of that?"  Actually, there were lots of ideas on the site that made me say that!  I saved several other projects for future reference, but printed this project sheet out and headed to my local Dollar Tree.

The supplies I needed were very easy to find:  accent stones, glassware, tea lights, and super glue!  The original project used one color on each light.  I varied mine a bit by alternating colors to create stripes.  I also tried a different approach, using smooth river stones instead of the glass gem stones, to create a more earthy, masculine look.  My boys really love this one!  You can find a complete supply list with detailed instructions at Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club.

I'm looking forward to seeing what new ideas are up at Value Seekers Club next month.  I love that there are lots of recipe ideas and kid's crafts there, since those are things I enjoy but that aren't my "specialty".  It's nice to have one site to check for lots of frugal, fun ideas.

Dollar Tree would like to reward one lucky reader with a $100 Dollar Tree gift card.  People, that means you can take home 100 items from Dollar Tree!  Think of all the shopping you could do with a prize like that.  All you have to do to enter is sign up to join Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club.  You can use the Rafflecopter widget to enter.  Check out the club, then leave a comment to tell me which project you'd most like to try!

  1. I love these - I did something similar when making fairy castloes for a festival - I glued the dollar tree stones on empty coffee cans for the castle towers. Now I have to do these!
