- Wood Art Square
- Mod Podge
- Sheet Music
- Black Gesso
- Crafter’s Workshop Stencil – Well Rounded
- Mona Lisa Adhesive Pen With Gold Leaf
Step one: Search online for an image to use. I used an image found here. Use your home printer to add the image to the sheet music.
Step two: Mod Podge the sheet music to the wood. Paint the edges of the wood panel with black gesso.
Step three: Place the stencil as desired and tape it in place. Use the adhesive pen to trace the stencil and apply the glue to the paper. Let it dry for a few moments (per package instructions). Place the gold leaf sheet over the adhesive and brush off the excess.
I added more gold leaf to other parts of the image, like the hair and shoulder, to add some detail and shine. When you’re working with gold leaf, do one section at a time. If the adhesive dries too much, the gold leaf won’t adhere.
I love this one of a kind piece of wall art! I think I will make a set of 4 with each of the Beatles on a tile. You could do the same thing with any artist you admire, even substituting the sheet music with other papers. If you search online you should be able to find a black and white image of almost any of your favorite icons…you don’t have to limit yourself to music. Who is your all time favorite artist? Have fun crafting and creating music wall art for your home!
