Personalized gift tags are fun to give and to receive! Use clay to make these sweet valentine gift tags. They can be made in any color and spell any word or name you like! They’re very easy to make…this would be a perfect craft for the whole family to make together!
I like to use clay to make my own unique gift tags. You can use any color you want and spell any word you like to put the perfect finishing touch on a gift. I like to tie this onto wrapped presents or bags for a tag that is custom made and reusable!
Supplies:
- Sculpey Clay in various colors (I used red, white, and pink)
- Clay cutting tools (optional)
Step one: Cut a piece of clay from two different colors. Roll each piece of clay into a rope. I like to roll the clay on a flat surface so I can make the rope as smooth and even as possible.
Step two: Twist the two ropes of clay together. You can make it as loose or as tight as you like. I like to roll my new “clay rope” to meld the two pieces together, but you could leave them as is if you prefer.
Step three: Shape the clay to spell a word. You can also spell names or make a design, like a heart. Once you have the design the way you like it, press the intersections together gently to hold the letters in place. Bake as directed.
Your personalized clay word tags are now ready for gift giving! Use a bit of baker’s twine or ribbon to attach them to a present, or use a dab of glue to attach a shape, like the heart, to a gift container. Have fun crafting and creating!
