Use a craft pallet to make your own fun coffee mug hanger. What a fun way to store and display all your favorite drinking mugs!
Since Earth Day is coming up I’ll be sharing some fun projects you can make with recycled or repurposed items. I loooooove to craft with “junk” and have fun digging through items at thrift stores and yard sales to find “stuff” to craft with. You can see several of my recycling/upcycling projects listed HERE. Today I’ve got a fun project to make using old souvenir spoons!
My husband and I love good coffee! We even turned the built in bar area of our home into a coffee bar instead of a wine bar. I made this cute pallet wall art that doubles as a mug hanger to help decorate and organize our coffee bar. This would look really cute in a break room, too! Here’s how to make your own.
Supplies
- Walnut Hollow Rustic Pallets Rustic Pallet 11×11
- Wood stain
- Handmade Charlotte Stencils
- Paint
- Souvenir Spoons from Goodwill San Antonio
- Staple gun
Step one: Stain the pallet as desired. I used a spray on stain from Minwax to get all the small spaces easily.
Step two: Stencil the word “coffee” onto the wood. I outlined mine with black paint to look a little more finished. Once it’s dry, lightly sand it to distress the paint.
Step three: Decide on the placement of the spoons. (I bought a giant bag of souvenir spoons at Goodwill San Antonio for just $3!) Bend the spoons up, and use the staple gun to attach the spoon handles to the pallet.
Isn’t it fun? I love that I can display my favorite mugs (yes, I love photo mugs!) and keep my coffee bar organized. This makes putting clean dishes away a little more fun, too!
