This steampunk-ish, grungy piece of wall art makes my heart go pitter patter! I fell in love with with the fun patterns in the paper pack that my sponsor, Brutus Monroe, sent me and wanted to use them all! I combined several of my favorite papers with my Xyron Creative Station Lite to quickly create grungy heart wall art.
Supplies Used: (may include affiliate links)
- Xyron Creative Station Lite (5 Inch with 3 Inch Option)
- Brutus Monroe Mixed Elements Paper pack
- Brutus Monroe Chalk Ink
- Brutus Monroe Embossing ink and powder
- Wood Rectangle pieces
- Wood heart
- Angel wing jewelry charms
Step one: Trim the patterned papers to fit the rectangular wood pieces. Trim the corrugated cardboard paper from the Mixed Elements paper pad to fit the wood heart shape.
Step two: Roll the paper pieces through the Xyron Creative Station Lite to add adhesive to the back. Peel the patterned papers off the Xyron backing and press them onto the wood rectangles and the heart shape.
Step three: Ink the edges of the paper and wood with the chalk ink.
Step four: Use wood glue to attach the rectangles to each other. Glue the heart on top.
Step five: Spray the piece with the gold liquid elements mist spray.
Step six: Apply embossing ink and powder to the metal wings. Set the powder with a heating tool. Let the metal cool completely before you touch it.
Step seven: Glue the wings on each side of the heart.
Attach a saw tooth hanger to the back of the piece so you can hang it. This piece is grungy and sweet at the same time, don’t you think? You could always customize it with initials or a message, too. Have fun crafting and creating your heart out!
