Step one: Paint the wood figure Golden Brown. Be sure to paint the edges as well as the back. You can leave the front unpainted, as that will be glued to the cork.
Step two: Trace the wood figure onto the cork. Cut out the cork in the shape of the figure. It’s best to use very sharp scissors and cut in small snips. This will help you have cleaner edges and will reduce the chances of ripping the cork by accident.
Step three: Use E-6000 to glue the cork onto the wood base. I used washi tape to hold the cork in place while the glue set.
Step four: Embellish the voodoo doll by adding black eyes and a red heart. Use white paint to add the “stitches” around the heart, to the eyes, and the hands and feet.
Step five: To make the voodoo pins (which double as wine charms!), add a dab of E-6000 to the end of the eye pin, and slide beads onto the eye pin. Set it aside to dry.
Have fun crafting and creating for Halloween get togethers!
