Step one: Paint the backs and sides of the wood pieces with black paint. I used Folk Art’s milk paint because of the ultra matte finish and because it covered the wood with just one application of paint. Let the paint dry.
Step two: Place the wood face down on the back of the chalkboard label. Trace around the shape with a marker.
Step three: Cut out the shape from the sticker paper.
Step four: Peel the backing off the sticker and adhere the sticker to the wood.
Step five: Use a chalk marker to trace around the edges of the shapes.
I added string to the back of the smaller shapes to make ornaments, but they also make awesome gift tags! Just use some chalk or the chalk marker to add a name to the sticker label. The “noel” sign will look great on a shelf or mantle, and you can have fun decorating it with chalk if you want. Have fun crafting and creating for the holidays!
