Step one: Spray paint the shadow with the gold paint.
Step two: Trim papers from the gilded paper stack into squares. The two pieces are 5.5 inch squares, and the smaller squares are each 2.75 inches. I used three different patterned papers from the DCWV stack for my project.
Step three: Use the Xyron Creative Station to add adhesive to the back of the paper squares. Attach the square papers to the shadow box.
Step four: Use a sharp tool to poke a hole in the wide end of the cork. Then carefully screw the decorative knob into the cork. Twist until the cork meets the end of the ceramic knob, leaving a bit of the screw exposed at the end. Repeat this with the other knob.
Step five: Use a sharp tool to make a hole in the wood of the shadow box. (You could use a drill, too, but the wood is light enough that I was able to use an awl to make a hole.) Insert the screw end of the knob in the hole, and tighten the bolt as pictured to hold the knob in place.
Add a photo hanger or sawtooth hanger to the back of this piece so you can display it on a wall. You could also add decorative legs to it and make it a standing piece instead! The knobs are perfect for holding bracelets or for wrapping necklaces around them. The smaller squares are great for rings or small knick knacks. Have fun crafting and getting organized with your custom made wall organizer!
