This fun little belt cost me less than $2 to make!
IMG_3696I started with two buckle bracelets and twill ribbon.

Cut the bracelets in half.

Use E6000 to glue the bracelets to the ends of the ribbon, as pictured above.

I let mine dry for a day and then I hand stitched where they overlap, just to reinforce it (not pictured).

I wrapped coordinating ribbon to finish the belt.  I folded the edge under and hand stitched the trim to hold it in place.

It’s such a fun, colorful belt to wear this summer!  And, of course, I made more than one.  I even made headbands with the same concept.  Check here to see more fast, frugal, FABULOUS tutorials using these materials.

Thank you for visiting my corner!  I’d love for you to follow via Facebook or  Google Friends to keep up with me!

  1. Morena, this is genius! My roommate had a small belt that had come with a pair of pants she bought and was about to throw it away. I think she thought I was crazy when I practically yelled at her not to pitch it and that I wanted it! I’m going to attempt something similar. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

  2. This is a great idea! And I love the colours, so bright and fresh. If you’re looking for a new place to share your creative projects, come check out Etcetorize. Would love to see you there~
