I’m a beach girl, and my idea of summer fun includes lounging in the sand with a cool drink in hand. Even though I’m miles from the shore now, I can still recreate those fond memories with some fun, retro tiki party glasses. Read on to learn how easy it is to use DecoArt’s glass paints and stencils to decorate glass, along with how you can win a $100 gift card AND $100 worth of DecoArt craft products!
If you haven’t tried glass paint yet, you really should! No painting skills needed: with a stencil and Americana Glass Paints you can make countless projects. Americana Glass Paints are available at Michaels, JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores, Pat Catan’s Craft Centers, A.C. Moore, Beverly’s, and other fine craft retailers. For more information on Americana Glass Paints visit www.decoart.com/glasspaint.
For this project, I used:
Gloss Enamels Stick on Stencils: Mod and Party Time
Transparent Crystal Gloss Enamels: Citron, Orange, and Yellow
Foam Wedges
Glasses (purchased at Dollar Tree)
Step one: Clean your glass and dry it well.
Step two: Adhere the stencil to the glass. It is adhesive and pliable, so you can easily wrap it around a curved surface.
Step three. Pour some paint onto your craft mat, and dab the foam wedge in it. Press the sponge over the stencil design. Repeat until the stencil has been covered.
Step four: Carefully remove the stencil. Wash it with just water, then dry. Reposition the stencil and repeat steps 2 and 3 until the glass is covered with the design.
Step five: Use the smaller stencils to paint the base of the glass. Use the same process described above.
The paint needs to dry for 4 days, then you bake your piece per the instructions on the paint bottle.
(I liked the stencils so much I made a plate, too! Tutorial
