The kitchen area of my kids’ playroom was always a disaster. I realized that arranging their toys in a way that they would be highly visible and reachable would make clean up easier.
I always find a LOT of wood shelves when I visit Goodwill San Antonio. I think people pass them up because they look a bit dated, but I can’t resist the amazing prices. This extra large country-style shelf was in perfect condition, and only cost $12!! It’s not the style I wanted, but that was easy to fix!
I wanted to fill each square with fun, coordinating paper that was Mod Podged on, but my son preferred a simpler look. Less work for me! 🙂 Though it would have been super cute with patterned paper!
What will you find at Goodwill San Antonio today?
What a great idea… I never thought of that. I am in awe that you can see something and just see what it COULD be… thank you
I love how you covered up the heart. It totally changes the look!
Love it!
Cool!!! and I love how you covered up the heart!
PS…how do you become a blogger for Goodwill………..I’d be a pro at that job since I practically LIVE there, hahaha!!!

Thank you for this post! I have two shelves with cut out hearts on the top like this one and could not figure out how to get rid of the dated heart. Love your idea – the shelf looks great!
