Centerpieces can be expensive, but with a little paint and glue you can easily turn thrifted items into a show-stopping party or wedding centerpiece!
This technique is easy to do but hard to illustrate in photos, so I made a quick video to show you how easy it is to make your own wedding or party centerpiece by using thrifted items from Goodwill San Antonio and DecoArt’s Chalky Finish Paint.
Supplies Used:
- Various candle holders from Goodwill
- Various platters from Goodwill
- Flowers (Goodwill)
- Americana Chalky Finish Paint
- Americana Wax Creme
Here’s a peek at my next two centerpieces. The one on the left shows it as I found it, and on the right you can see how much coverage just one layer of paint provides!
Have any questions? Feel free to post them here or on my Facebook page. Have fun crafting and creating!

What kind of glue did you use in order to make this sturdy enough to hold up during transport etc.?
I used E-6000. It dries clear and has a very firm hold.
