Plaid has a fun new line of Mod Melts molds and colored sticks! I showed you how to use Mod Melts in this post, and now I’m going to show you how I used the new products to make three dimensional cabochons with Mod Melts!
Make the embellishment as you normally would, by heating the stick in a low temp glue gun and filling the mold.
When the first shape has cooled, remove it from the mold. Make a second shape, and immediately place the first cabochon on top of the second one.
You can only make 3-D shapes with molds that are symmetrical. There are many to work with in this particular mold!
I used the pink melt sticks to make these.
Trim off any excess from the edges as needed.
Decorate the embellishments with Drizzle Paint!
Here’s a sampling of the various embellishments I’ve made so far! Some were made with collage clay, as explained in this tutorial. Check back each day for more ideas on how to work with Mod Melts and Collage Clay!

I would like to know if you could pass along the instructions to me for the tennis shoes themselves that you put the 3-D embellishments on in your tutorial? I need a way to do it so the glitter won’t always be falling off because Mama doesn’t like that & I can’t really blame her. I have a 2 year old Grandaughter that would be THRILLED with a pair of these. Tha

The shoes in the picture were purchased that way, but this is how I have glittered other shoes. Just be sure to do light applications so the finish doesn’t crack: https://www.morenascorner.com/2013/05/teach-me-no-mess-glitter-application.html
