This fun t-shirt cutting project was inspired by 80s anthems like the GoGo’s “We Got the Beat” and Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. Grab an old tee and a pair of scissors to whip up this cute, girly t-shirt.
Supplies:
- T-shirt
- Scissors
Step one: Cut a slit on either shoulder, about an inch from the neckline. Cut the front of the shirt from slit to slit, then the back of the shirt. This gives you cleaner edges.
Step two: Cut off the sleeves. Save the sleeves to cut ribbon like pieces.
Step three: Fold the t-shirt “ribbon” into the middle as pictured, and tie with another “ribbon”. Once you like the way the bow looks, tie it onto the sleeves of the shirt.
Step four: Cut off the bottom of the shirt and save to use as a belt.
Step five: Fold the bottom of the shirt and cut half a heart. Repeat as desired.
I cut slits in the sides like belt looks to keep my tee belt in place. This fun, feminine look would be a great way for girls to make oversized t-shirts fit and look cute!
I’ll be at Throwback Fiesta next weekend hosting a t-shirt cutting booth. Stop by to say hi and cut a shirt with me! You can get all the details here. I’m also giving away two free admission tickets, so make sure you enter for a chance to win!
