Use non-fraying Oly-Fun fabric with your Silhouette cutting machine to create a custom team spirit banner that you can bring to games.

This month I’m going to show you how I made a custom banner for my son’s soccer team. I wanted to show our team pride from the sidelines, and wanted something that was durable and easy to carry from game to game.  We’ve had a very wet spring this year, so paper was not an option.  I opted to use Oly-Fun fabric with my Silhouette to create a sign that will last for many soccer seasons to come!

Supplies used (affiliate links included):

Step one:  I cut the Lemon Drop Oly-Fun fabric into a strip.  The piece is approximately one foot tall by 3 feet long.

Step two:  Type the text in your Silhouette design studio software.  Adjust the size so it is as large or as small as needed.  Cut the text using a Silhouette fabric blade.

Step three:  Use the Xyron Creative Station to add adhesive to the back of each letter. (My 4 year old wanted to help so I let him use my Xyron sticker maker, pictured above.)  I used the permanent adhesive.  It basically turns your work into giant stickers!

Step four:  Arrange and adhere the letters on the banner.  Press firmly so they adhere well.

Step five:  Hot glue metal stakes to the ends of the banner.

All I have to do is roll the banner up and tuck it into my bag.  It’s lightweight and easy to set up and take down anywhere I go!
