This fun shaped card is perfect for summer. It would make a cute party invitation or a cheery “pick me up” card for a friend. This simple card would be easy to produce in bulk since you’re using dies to cut the materials quickly!  I originally published this post on the Crafts Unleashed blog, and I’m excited to share it with you here now.

Step one: Trim the sides of the card so that it has the shape of a drinking glass. Trace it onto a piece of yellow cardstock, then trim the yellow paper so it is slightly smaller than the card.

Step two: Use the two smallest circles from the die set to cut one yellow circle and one vellum circle. Score the vellum circle to look like a lemon slice.

Step three: Use the smallest square from the die set to cut three vellum squares. These are your ice cubes! Also cut a thin strip of vellum to make the straw.  (If you want to change it up, make a drink umbrella or a striped straw instead!)

To assemble the card, first glue the straw onto the card.  Next, you will then glue the yellow sheet on top of the shaped card. Embellish the lemonade “drink” with the vellum squares and circles, as pictured above.  To keep glue from showing through the vellum I used the Xyron sticker maker. This is my trick when I work with vellum…the Xyron adds adhesive so the vellum sticks while the adhesive doesn’t show!  Yay!  Have fun crafting and creating these cheery, refreshing cards for summer! They  just scream “pool party” to me!
