This thrifted bench makeover is a quick, easy project for beginners! This is a sponsored post.
I found this sweet little bench in need of an update at Goodwill San Antonio.
It was outdated but in good shape, and the perfect size for may daughter’s new vanity. In less than an hour I was able to create a fun, funky piece that looks great in her bedroom! Here’s how I did it:
Supplies used in this thrifted bench makeover:
- Thrifted Bench from Goodwill San Antonio
- Tru-Foam from Fairfield World
- Zebra Print Cuddle Fabric from Shannon Fabric
- Pom pom Trim from Decorative Trimmings
- White Paint
- Staple gun
Step one: Unscrew the top of the bench to remove the cover from the base.
Step two: Paint the base of the bench with glossy white paint. Luckily, this paint finish was in decent shape so I didn’t have to sand the old paint off.
Step three: Remove the old staples, fabric, and foam from the wood bench top. Dispose of the old materials.
Step four: Place the wood board on the foam. Use a permanent marker to trace the outline of the wood. Cut the foam along the lines. You can use hot glue or a spray on adhesive to attach the foam to the wood if desired.
