When we went shopping for our Christmas tree this year, my daughter saw this adorable turquoise mini tree and asked if she could have her own tree to decorate in her room. She’s my mini-me crafter, and it was hard to say “no” to her request. She was so excited about making ornaments for her own tree!
To help her get started, I pulled out some of my favorite papers from DCWV along with my Xyron sticker maker so we could make some quick pendant ornaments. This project can be done in under 15 minutes!
Supplies Used to Make Pendant Ornaments:
- DCWV Paper Packs: Birds & Butterflies, Wreaths
- Xyron Sticker Maker XRN150 “X” 1.5 inch
- Round Glass Tiles – 1″ Diameter
Step one: Fussy cut birds from the patterned paper.
Step two: Place the bird cut out in the Xyron sticker maker. Pull it through the sticker maker to add the adhesive. Rub the front of the image before peeling off the cover sheet, then the sticker.
Step three: Affix the fussy cut bird sticker to the background paper.
Step four: Trace the round glass tile over the bird. Cut out the circle from the paper.
Step five: Place the circle inside the Xyron sticker maker front side down. We want to add the adhesive to the front of the paper.
Step six: Remove the cover sheet and carefully pull up the sticker. Press the glass tile over the sticker and rub firmly.
You can trim excess paper off the edge if needed. My glass tiles already had the bail attached, but if you’re using plain flat stones, like the clear floral stones you find at the dollar store, you can hot glue a bit of ribbon or twine to the back to hang up the ornament. All that was left to do was add an ornament hook and then hang up my pretty, custom ornament!
