Supplies Used:

  • Darice Jumbo Clothes Pins, 6 inches
  • Darice Wood Pallet Sign Blank: Lathe Wood, 15 x 9 inches
  • Darice Wood Glue
  • DecoArt Paint in Black  Tie, Canary, Lemon Zest, School Bus, and Muted Gold
  • Black Permanent Marker
  • Number Stencils

Step one: Use a pencil and a ruler to make inch and centimeter lines on each board of the wood pallet sign.

Step two:  Trace the pencil lines with a fine point black permanent Sharpie marker.

Step three:  Use number stencils to mark the numbers on the faux rulers.  I used two different fonts to vary the appearance. I used adhesive stencils from Martha Stewart so I could place them where I wanted them and then filled in the number with the fine point black permanent marker.  I varied the numbers so it would look like  different rulers had been put together.
