Make embossed and glittered note cards that look elegant! These are fun to make and a treat to receive. Who doesn’t love a handmade card?
In this age of e-mails and instant messaging, it’s always a nice surprise to receive a handmade note. I like to make simple, all occasion note cards to keep handy for sending quick thank you messages, or even just saying hello. By using embossing folders and glitter paint I can quickly make several simple monochromatic cards in one sitting to have handy.
Supplies used to make embossed and glittered note cards:
- Cardstock
- Darice Embossing Folders
- Glamour Dust Paint
- Foam Dots
Step one: Emboss the card stock with the desired folder. I used several fun embossing folders from Darice with my Big Shot. Trim the embossed paper as needed to fit the card.
Step two: Choose a color of Glamour Dust paint that matches the card stock, and quickly brush the raised areas of the embossed image. This gives the card a pretty shine. If you’re not familiar with Glamour Dust, it’s a paint that has ultra fine glitter in it. I just love it! You can learn more about it in this post.
Step three: Mount the embossed paper onto a blank, pre made card. I like to use foam dots so that the image “pops” up a bit more, but you can also use a tape runner to adhere the paper. You can always embellish the card more later if you like.
It’s hard to capture in photos how pretty the shimmer of the glitter paint is. I’m always asked, “Did you really make this?” when someone opens these notes. Yes, I did, and so can you! Have fun crafting and creating!
