This easy to make gift bag would be perfect for a bridal shower, a sweet 16 birthday party, or any other special event. Using dies makes it easy to quickly make several party favor bags at once. You could even use larger sized dies to make these into gift bags. Aluminor is a non-fraying material that cuts smoothly and can be hot glued, making this a great no-sew project! Here’s how to make your own glam gift bag.
Supplies Used:
- Aluminor by Fairfield World- Silver
- Eileen Hull Sizzix Die – Gift Bag
- Kreinik Bag O’ Bits – Metallic
- Pom Pom Maker
- Hot Glue gun
Part 1: Make the pom poms!
Stretch a piece of string across the base of the pom pom maker, and use the slots in the plastic to hold it in place.
Wrap the pom pom maker until it is full. The more string you use, the fuller your pom pom will be.
Remove the base string from the plastic slots and tie tightly to hold the string together.
Cut along the slit on the pom pom maker. Fluff the string to make a ball shape.
Part 2: Make the bag!
Die cut the bag from the silver Aluminor.
Fold along the etched lines and use hot glue to attach the tabs together.
Punch a hole in the sides of the bag, and use trim to make a handle.
Part 3: Put it all together!
Use the hot glue gun to attach the metallic pom poms to the top edge of the bag. I recommend using gloves or hot glue finger protectors so you don’t burn your fingers!
Aren’t they adorable? And oh-so-shiny. I can’t wait to make a bunch of these and fill them up with little manicure sets (polish, file, etc.) I’m sure my party guests will love them! Have fun crafting and creating for parties!
