Altered Books for Halloween Decor

Create altered books to decorate with this Halloween. This is a sponsored post with Goodwill San Antonio but all ideas and opinions are my own.

I love to craft with books and book pages, and I decided Halloween is the perfect reason to create altered books. Goodwill San Antonio is my go-to source for books to craft with. The selection is huge and inexpensive! Goodwill also has a ton of Halloween merchandise out now, so I was able to pick up several fun items to use to embellish these altered books for Halloween decorating.

Supplies Used to make Altered Books:

  • Large hardcover books from Goodwill
  • Frames from Goodwill
  • Embellishments
  • Crackle Medium
  • Gesso
  • Stencils
  • Paints
  • Paint misters
  • Hot glue gun
  • Craft knife

Step one: Use gesso and stencils to add textures to the covers and spines of the books. Let the gesso dry completely.

Step two: Add crackle medium to the frame. Let it dry. (click on page 2 to keep reading)
