- Cutting machine (Silhouette Cameo, Cricut, or Brother ScanNCut)
- Weeding tools
- Transfer tape
Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Choose Your Cryptid Design
Select designs that fit your style and the size of your notebook cover. I used a Sunset background for my design and then cut the cryptid design out of it to create an outline.
Step 2: Prepare Your Design in Cutting Software
Upload your chosen SVG files to your cutting machine’s software. Resize the design to fit your notebook cover. If using multiple colors, make sure to separate the layers accordingly.
Step 3: Cut and Weed Your StyleTech Craft Vinyl
Load your adhesive or heat transfer vinyl into your cutting machine and start the cutting process. Once cut, use your weeding tool to remove excess vinyl, leaving only your cryptid design intact.
Step 4: Apply the Vinyl
For adhesive vinyl: Use transfer tape to lift your design and carefully place it on the notebook cover. Smooth it out with a scraper tool to eliminate bubbles. Peel off the transfer tape slowly.
Step 6: Add Finishing Touches
Enhance your cryptid notebook with extra details like holographic vinyl for a mysterious glow or glow-in-the-dark vinyl for an eerie effect. You can also add text like “Protect Wildlife”, “Cryptid Research Journal” or “Paranormal Encounters.”
