I have to give my sister credit for inspiring this idea…she asked me if I thought it was possible to create three dimensional flowers that look like plastic by using transparent vinyl. I was intrigued enough by the possibility to test it out, and I’m so glad I did! The end result is beautiful!

Here is a brief overview of the steps to make this project:
- Fold the transparent vinyl sheet in half to create a sheet that is clear and not adhesive. Cut the petals for the flower.
- Cut the petal outline from gold vinyl.
- Use transfer tape to place the clear petals in the gold outline.
- Assemble the flower by attaching the largest petals to the tea candle first, then adding the other layers on top.
- Place a glue dot on the tip of the tea candle “flame”. Fold the petals closest to the center in so they cover the light.
When you turn the tea candle on, the soft light flickers through the transparent petals. The effect is mesmerizing! These cute vinyl lotus lights are perfect for decorating your outdoor space with.
