It’s time for CAKE: Crafty Acts of Kindness Everywhere! Since Halloween is this month, I thought it would be fun to decorate candy bars in a monstrously fun way. Who wouldn’t want to find one of these tucked in their lunch box or desk drawer?

Every month I like to suggest a fun way to craft and spread kindness. To see some past CAKE activities, click here. To make this month’s project, you’ll need: snack sized candy bars, ribbon, and googly eyes.

For Frankenbar, I used adhesive backed ribbon, but you could make it work with regular ribbon. I wrapped it in green, then added the brown ribbon to the top. I used glue dots to adhere the eyes and cut a piece of red ribbon to make the mouth.

For the mummy, I cut a strip of white ribbon in half length-wise to create the frayed edge.

Because I only had tiny googly eyes, I glued them onto black buttons so they wouldn’t get lost.

Glue the eyes on first, then wrap with the white ribbon.

I tucked these into my boys’ lunches as a fun surprise. Next, I will be showing them how to make them so they can leave a little surprise for some of their teachers. You could do the same with co-workers, waitresses, office employees, neighbors….anyone!

I’d love to hear from you if you decide to surprise someone with a crafty act of kindness. Let me know how it went! Have fun crafting and creating!
Love, love, love – thanks for sharing
