As a budget crafter, I’m always trying to figure out where to put all my stuff and how to get organized without breaking the bank. This is one of my solutions! I recycled old tins to make cute, colorful storage containers.
(This post first appeared at Dollar Store Crafts, where you can find my new tutorial every Tuesday!)
Supplies Used:
- Tins
- Knobs (found in the dollar spot at Michaels Craft Store)
- Spray Paint
To make your own storage tin:
Step one: Use a drill to make a hole in the lid of the tin.
Step two: Attach the knob to the lid, using the hardware that came with the knob.
Step three: Prime and spray paint the tins.
Your pretty storage tins are ready to be filled. (I later updated my tins with fabric…tutorial coming soon!) I plan to use mine in my craft room, but since I didn’t paint the inside they could be used for other things, too, like the Valentine candy you took from your kids. So start saving those tins, and have fun creating!
