I know it doesn’t feel like it yet, but I promise that Spring is around the corner! To help you beat those winter blues, why not brighten your wardrobe and accessories with bold pops of neon color? I made this fun, colorful tote bag using Tulip fabric paints, which can be found exclusively at Michaels and at i Love to Create.
I was recently sent a fun neon pack of Tulip fabric paint to use: Tulip Dimensional Mini 3-pack, Tulip One Step Mini Tie Dye Kit, and Tulip Fabric Markers. I opted to use the fabric markers for this project, but I look forward to trying out the other products next!
This project is perfect for anyone who is cooped up inside this winter. I love that it’s quick, no mess, and no clean up. This is a GREAT product to use with group crafts and with children. My kids fell in love with the fabric markers, and I had to give them each their own tote bag and stencils to decorate. They kept remarking how cool the markers were and how BRIGHT the colors were. They especially loved the neon pink and neon green. The Tulip neon fabric markers will keep us entertained and occupied for a long time.
Here’s how you can easily make your own stenciled, neon tote bag:
Supplies
- Tulip Fabric Markers
- Tote bag
- Stencil
Step one: Place the stencil on the tote. You may want to place a book or piece of cardboard inside the tote to have a firm surface to work on.
Step two: Use the fine tip end of the fabric marker to fill in the text portions of the stencil, and the wider tip to color.
Step three: Repeat step two with various colors until the design is complete.
Step four: Use a fabric pen to write “old school” or another quote on the bottom of the tote.
That’s it! How much simpler could it get? No long drying time and no mess to clean up. Make your tote bag DIY and go!
