Warmer weather means more opportunities for outdoor get togethers! When the sun sets, instead of heading inside, linger outside a bit longer with soft, glowing, tea lights. You can use your paper crafting supplies to quickly and easily make beautiful custom table lights.
I’m excited to partner with Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts and Xyron to bring you this project! I love to show you how to stretch your stash to use it for more than paper projects. Here’s how I made these pretty tea lights that you can customize as you like.

Supplies Used:
- Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts (click HERE for the butterflies)
- Xyron 624632 Creative Station, 9″ with 5″ Option
- Vellum
- White Paint
- Glitter
- Teresa Collins Mega Runner by Xyron
- Battery Operated Tea Light
Step one: Remove the butterflies from the packaging by using a sharp tool to detach the two small pieces holding the cuts in place.
Step two: You can glitter the butterflies quickly with the process I used in THIS tutorial. Or, dab white paint on the cuts and then sprinkle fine glitter in the wet paint. Let it dry.
Step three: Use the Xyron Creative Station to add adhesive to the back of the Gypsy Soul laser cut butterflies. I love how easily my Xyron turns anything into a sticker!
Step four: Create a triangle template. I made my triangle 6 inches wide at the base and 6 inches tall. Place the triangle template under the vellum and use a scoring tool to trace the lines. Make 3 triangles next to each other, plus a small tab at the end as pictured.
Step five: Cut the edges of the triangle out and fold at the scored lines. Use the Mega Runner to attach the tab to the side.
Step six: Peel the butterflies off the backing and and stick them on the vellum triangle.
All that’s left to do is place a tea light under the vellum triangle. By day, the white butterfly encrusted light makes a pretty piece of table decor. By night, it provides soft glowing light for your place setting. Have fun crafting and creating!
