Step three: Stick the snowflakes on the cleaned and dried glass. I just applied them randomly to look like they were falling.
Step four: Spread etching cream over the entire outside of the glass. Make sure you are wearing gloves when you do this, and work in a well ventilated area! Follow the instructions on the product you use. I left the etching cream on my glass for about 10 minutes.
Step five: Place the glass under a faucet and rinse the etching cream off. The snowflake stickers will wash off as well. Be sure to keep your gloves on and use plenty of water to rinse the cream off. If you don’t have a utility sink like I do, you might want to do this outside, or place a plastic basin in your bowl, as you don’t want the cream to etch your sink.
Once the glass is cleaned and dried you can start using it. Isn’t it beautiful? It pairs nicely with the snowflake coasters I made. The etching creates a soft haze on the glass to create a snowy glow. I plan to make a whole set to use at home this winter!
