Make a Mad Eye Moody sleep mask so you can keep an eye on things while you rest! This is a sponsored post with Fairfield World.
Hey Harry Potter fans! I’m excited to participate in another Harry Potter themed round up with Rae Gun Ramblings. Who doesn’t love Mad Eye Moody? Wouldn’t it be great to always have an eye watching out for you while you sleep? Make this fun Mad Eye Moody sleep mask so you can pretend to be watchful while you rest.
Supplies Used to Make the Mad Eye Moody Sleep Mask:
- Sleeping Mask Template (google to find a style you like)
- White felt
- Cuddle Fabric from Shannon Fabrics
- Fold Over Elastic
- Metallic Oly-Fun Fabric
- Cuddle Suede Fabric from Shannon Fabrics
- Poly-Fil Fiber Fill
- Circle Die cuts
- Blue Oly-Fun Fabric
- Black Felt
- Hot glue gun
Download a pillow mask template from the internet and trace it on the felt and the soft cuddle fabric.
Die cut a white and blue circle to make the eye.
Cut a narrow strip of cuddle suede fabric.
Hot glue the suede to the side of the mask. Glue the blue circle to the white one.
Place the Poly-Fil stuffing under the white circle, and hot glue the edges shut.
Hot glue another strip of cuddle suede fabric next to the fake eye.
Die cut a round circle of metallic Oly-Fun and hot glue it over the fake eye.
Cut a length of fold over elastic to fit around your head. Hot glue it to the back of the eye mask, then glue the cuddle suede faux straps over it.
Note: After I tried on the mask I realized that one side wouldn’t stay down because of the way I had placed the elastic. I decided to re-do it later so the elastic went around the back of my head instead.
Glue the cuddle fabric to the back of the mask. This will help block out light and leave you with super soft fabric next to your face instead of scratchy felt.
Die cut a black felt circle to create a crescent shape. Hot glue the sleeping eye to the front of the mask.
This is what the elastic looked like after I adjusted the placement.
My son got a kick out of his new sleep mask, and he actually uses it! So many sleep masks tend to be more feminine in design, and it was fun to dream up a style that boys AND girls can enjoy. Have fun crafting and creating Harry Potter themed projects….I know I do!
