Make a firefly night light in no time! This is a sponsored post with Xyron and Lawn Fawn.
If you thought die cuts and stamps were only for papercrafts then you’re missing out on a lot of fun projects! I’m excited to show you how I used an adorable stamp and die cut set from Lawn Fawn with my favorite Xyron sticker making products to make this fabric night light.
This project is part of a design team partnership between Xyron and Lawn Fawn. Be sure to visit their Facebook pages and blogs for a TON of great project ideas from other design team members!
Supplies Used to Make the Firefly Night Light: (affiliate links included)

- Xyron Creative Station, 9″ with 5″ Option
- Oly-Fun Material in Lemon Drop, Blueberry, and Kiwi
- Darice Muslin Fabric Shade Night Light
- Xyron Sticker Maker 150 X 1.5 inch
I’m using a “design your own” night light set from Darice with non-fraying Oly-Fun fabric from Fairfield World to quickly make this project. The adorable stamps and die cuts from Lawn Fawn are the perfect size for this cute project.
Remove the fabric shade from the base and trace it onto the Oly-Fun fabric using chalk. Cut the shape out.
Oly-Fun is a non fraying fabric, so I don’t have to worry about frayed edges. I can die cut it and have crisp, clean lines where it is cut. It cuts just like paper would!
I die cut firefly shapes, and glowing lights from the blue fabric. Then I cut the same shapes from the green and yellow fabrics.
I used the stamps with a black ink pad to add the cute fireflies and other details to the cut pieces. I love that there is a front and back to the fireflies, as well as a cute glowing “butt”.
I used my 9″ Xyron Creative Station to add permanent adhesive to the blue fabric. Attach the fabric to the lamp shade. The adhesive is strong enough that you can either fold the edges down or trim the excess off.
Use the smaller Xyron sticker maker to turn the smaller die cut pieces into stickers.
Peel and stick the design elements onto the lamp shade.
How cute it that? These fireflies look adorable both in the daytime and at night.
You could use any die cut and stamp set to create a custom night light to match any room’s decor.
And since there is no messy glue that you have to wait to let dry, this project is ready to plug in the second you finish it!
