Beetlejuice Tablescape Supplies Used
- Green Upholstery Fabric
- Poly-Fil® Project Fleece Batting
- StyleTech Craft WITPAC Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Black and White Striped Fabric
- Poly-Fil® Premium Fiber Fill
- Twine
- Wood Dowels
I made a video to show how easy it is to use heat transfer vinyl to decorate placemats for your Beetlejuice party! You can see that tutorial here:
Beetlejuice Placemats Instructions:
- Cut two pieces of fabric that are 19 inches by 13 inches. Cut a piece of batting the same size or slightly smaller.
- Place the fabric with the right sides together and set the batting on top. Pin together.
- Sew around the edges of the fabric with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Leave a three inch opening on one side.
- Flip the placemat inside out. Pin the opening shut and iron the placemat.
- Sew around the edge to close the opening and create a border.
- Cut Beetlejuice quotes and spooky images using heat transfer vinyl and iron them on.
Plush Sandworm Instructions:
- Fold your fabric in half and cut into a long triangle.
- Sew the edge closed and flip inside out.
- Stuff the sandworm with Poly-Fil® Premium Fiber Fill. Alternate packing in a little Poly-Fil with too much Poly-Fil to create bulges. This will make the sandworm appear to be moving!
- When the sandworm is full, insert a wood dowel and tie the end shut with some twine or ribbon.
- Insert the dowel into the centerpiece and arrange.
I created a video tutorial that shows you how to make the sandworms for the centerpiece as well as the placemats. You can watch the video tutorial here:
When it’s time to put it all together, think outside the box! I used thrift store silver to create my centerpieces with. I filled them with various florals and then added the sandworms to them. Have fun crafting and creating a hauntingly beautiful Beetlejuice tablescape this fall!
