Whether you’re heading off to college, setting up a homework station, or upgrading your gaming setup, your desk deserves to be as inspiring as it is functional. And what better way to make studying a little more exciting than by adding a touch of Star Wars magic? In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create Star Wars-inspired DIY desk gear, including a lightsaber wrist rest, a desk mat, and a mousepad. These projects are fun, functional, and guaranteed to make your workspace feel like the ultimate command center.

DIY Lightsaber Wrist Rest

Typing or gaming for long periods of time can really put a strain on your wrists, so why not make your wrist support a little more epic? A lightsaber wrist rest not only provides comfort but also doubles as the coolest desk accessory in the galaxy.

Supplies Needed:

  • Fabric (in lightsaber colors: blue, green, red, or purple)
  • Poly-Fil® Mini Sized Micro Beads
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread
  • Black fabric or faux leather for the hilt
  • Silver or gray ribbon/trim for hilt details

Steps:

  1. Cut your fabric into a long rectangle (the length of your keyboard and about 5 inches wide).
  2. Sew the sides together to create a tube, leaving one end open.
  3. Turn the fabric right side out and stuff with Micro Beads until firm but still soft.
  4. Sew the open end closed.

Now you’ve got a wrist rest that looks just like a mini lightsaber!
