Ready for more safari print ornament fun? Hang out with me and see how easy it is to paint your own zebra print ornament.
As I mentioned in this tutorial, DecoArt sent me an incredible assortment of glass paints and a stencil to work with. For my second ornament, I went with the zebra stencil. I love the end result!
Supplies Needed:
Glass Ornament
Americana Reusable Stick on Stencil: Safari
Americana Gloss Enamels: Black and Metallic Silver
How to make your own zebra print ornament:
Step 1: Paint the inside of the ornament silver. I had to use a small angled brush to paint the sides and top.
Step 2: Apply the stencil (it’s adhesive) to the ornament. The stencil was too large for my ornament, so I only used one small section at a time (as pictured).
Step 3: Dab the black paint onto the stencil with a foam pouncer. Remove and clean the stencil with a wet washcloth.
Step 4: Repeat until the pattern covers the ornament.
You can fix stray marks by painting over them with a paintbrush. Another option is to use a craft razor or a scraping tool to gently remove the stray marks.

You’re killing me with these ornaments! I want a whole mess of them for a bowl on my coffee table! Love them.

These are so cute! I love that they aren’t heavy too. With a real tree heavy ornaments don’t work.

I love to make a bunch of these as gifts. And it would be great with some fabulous bright colors too!
