This mid century modern bedroom on a budget shows one way that you can transform your space into a calm, tranquil oasis in your home. This is a sponsored post with Photowall.
My master bedroom has been a work in progress for some time, and I think I’m finally “done” enough to share my progress. I wanted to create an uncluttered, relaxing place where I can get away from the chaos of the world and just unwind with a good book in a quiet space.
Here’s a peek at what the room looked like before. I had antique Italian furniture and a very shabby chic feel to the space. My style has changed, and, like lots of others, I’ve fallen hard for the MCM vibe. I started looking for pieces to help create this mid century modern bedroom makeover.
After many, many months of searching, I found a bed that I liked on Overstock.com. I wanted a unique but simple headboard, and I found that with the Carson Carrington Floro Mid-Century Platform Bed. It matched the blue/gray theme I had in mind, and I liked the big round buttons and the rounded headboard. It helped create the calm feel I wanted in the room.
My groovy 70s massage chair gives the space a fun pop of color. The book lamp I made several years ago matches the color scheme of the room, but I need to update the lampshade cover to match the MCM vibe.
The one missing piece was artwork to put in this big, blank space over the bed. My ceilings are tall but the bed is low, so there was a lot of area to cover. I took my time, waiting to find the perfect piece.
I finally found the perfect piece of wall art at Photowall! The colors matched the scheme that I wanted for this space, and the design is delightfully MCM. They offer a variety of sizes, and the largest option was perfect for my space.
Photowall is a Swedish company that specializes in amazing photo murals, wall paper, canvas prints, and posters. Even though the items ship from Europe, they get here amazingly fast! I still can’t believe it didn’t even take a week from the time I ordered to get the canvas print delivered right to my door. I’m 5 feet tall, and the package was almost as tall as me! The canvas does require minimal assembly, but all the pieces are in the box, and the site has an easy to follow video that shows you how to put your wall art together.

A few accent pieces, like this Carson Carrington Ahteri Bench, helped complete the look for my mid century modern bedroom makeover. My kids love to sit on the bench, and it’s a great place to set pillows and blankets on.
I just love how my new wall art helps pull all the colors of the room together. The design also helps give the space the MCM vibe that I wanted. I still have a few small things to do to finish this space, but for now I’m very happy with my bedroom makeover. It is uncluttered, peaceful, and soothing. Everyone should have an oasis to retreat to in their home!

What a great make over. I too love the MCM vibe. I’m using the bright pops of color, orange, avocado green, etc. I have some amazing swung glass vases. Thanks for sharing.
