One of my favorite artists, Kathy Cano-Murillo, has a fun new line of products with one of my favorite companies, Maker’s Movement. I just LOVE this vibrant collection that is packed with positive messages and bright colors! You can’t help but smile as you look at the encouraging messages and fun patterns in this coordinating set.
2021 has been off to a rough start, especially with the deep freeze we had where I live. My family was without power for three days during the recent “snowpocalypse” in Texas, but many others had it far worse. I’ve been using crafting as a way to brighten my outlook and raise funds for others affected by the weather event. I have been painting small “party animals” and selling them to raise money for the San Antonio Zoo’s emergency fund. The weather severely impacted their revenue, so I am brightening MY day and hopefully theirs as well with this cheerful project.
The “buenas vibras” positivity collection from Crafty Chica was PERFECT for making gift packaging for these itty party animals! I started with a base of white cardstock to make a simple shadow box. Then I die cut red paper using the papel picado die and glued it to the back using my Xyron Sticker maker. The die cut flowers are made using papers from the collection, as is the flower die. I used ephemera from the collection to make the sign and the tag. “Amor y vida” is stamped on with one of the phrase stamps in the set.
You can get a peek at another paper from the collection on the border of the box. You’ll see a lot more of this fun, uplifting collection in future projects! More positive messages and lots of color is definitely needed right now, don’t you think? Crafting is such a lovely way to lift spirits with some Crafty Chica cheer!
