This “dream big” organizer DIY is made using unfinished wood, metallic paint, and metalized vinyl from StyleTech Craft. This is a sponsored post.
I’ve had this unfinished wood shelf sitting in my craft supply closet for ages. I’m trying really hard to get my craft supplies organized, and decided it was time to finally do something with it! I was inspired by this silhouette cut file that reminds me of Banksy’s work. I am obsessed with StyleTech Craft’s metalized vinyls. They come in a ton of amazing colors and finishes. I really love this holographic kind of texture. It has a grungy metal feel but also has secret rainbow colors that show when the light hits it the right way!
Dream Big Organizer DIY Supplies
- Unfinished Wood Shelf
- Metalized Vinyl by StyleTech Craft
- Metallic Paint (I used a product from DecoArt)
- Transfer Tape
- Vinyl Cutting Machine
- Vinyl Tools
I cut the silhouette of the girl out of the vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo. The image is a design I had in my library, purchased at some point from Silhouette’s online store. I copied the star shape in the balloon and added numbers to them, to number the drawers on the shelf.
I weeded the images out.
I really love this transfer tool from StyleTech Craft. I used the soft edge to first pick up the vinyl using transfer tape.
Then I used the plastic edge to firmly press the vinyl into the wood finish. This vinyl is very adhesive, so a little bit of firm pressure ensures that it stays on the wood organizer.
I had painted the whole shelf the night before. I used a metallic paint that only needs one application, cause that was a ton of painting to do! The metallic paint finish goes well with the metalized vinyl.
Perfect for getting my small odds and ends organized! Have fun crafting and creating your own DIY organization!
