DIY Faux Gingerbread Mantle Supplies List

Here is a brief summary of the steps that are shown in the video:

  1. Use a pouncer to add light layers of paint to the unfinished wood ornaments. This will also help create a slight cookie texture.
  2. Measure the wood ornaments and create designs to cut from vinyl. Most of these are just rectangles with circles welded onto the ends. Cut a variety of shapes to create faux “icing” designs for the “gingerbread” cookie decor.
  3. Cut the “icing” from white gloss vinyl by StyleTech Craft. Use transfer tape or peel and stick the embellishments onto the painted wood ornaments.
  4. Tape and wire greenery onto a wood dowel. This will create a stable base for the entire piece.
  5. String the red and white shatterproof ornaments onto a length of twine. Twist that ornament garland around the greenery.
  6. Arrange the faux gingerbread cookie decor on and around the greenery to create a cute and colorful mantlescape.
