Who doesn’t love to receive treats? Deliver handmade goodies or loads of candy to friends and neighbors with these adorable plush Christmas candy jars. Make soft, squishy characters to make your gift jars extra special.
I used hot glue to quickly make these jars, but you can just as easily use your sewing machine to stitch all the pieces! Once the plush toppers are assembled, they can easily be removed and put back on the container so they can be used again and again.

The basic steps for each of these plush candy jars is pretty similar. You will change the colors and shapes to create different characters to top the candy jars with.
Start by tracing two circles from the felt for the head. The size of the circle will vary depending on the size of the container you are using. The largest jar, the snowman, has a 6 inch circle for the head. Cut two circles out, one for the front of the head and one for the back.
Poke holes in the felt where the eyes will go. Insert the eyes and hold them in place with the back.
Paint the face.
Place the eyes face down on the felt. Glue the edges of the two circles together, leaving a small opening.
Flip the head inside out, and fill it with a generous amount of Poly-Fil to make it nice and fluffy. Glue the open end shut.
Cut a length of felt to fit around the plush’s head. Make the felt as tall as the diameter of the circle. Glue the edge of the felt together to make a tube. Cut fringe on one end of the tube, and tie the end with twine. Glue the hat on the plush’s head, then glue felt trim around the edge of the hat.
Cut a circle of felt to fit the top of the container. Cut shapes for the arms. Make two for each arm. Glue the edges shut, leaving one end open, and fill with Poly-Fil. Glue the opening closed.
Glue the ends of the arms onto the felt circle for the top of the container. Glue the head on top of the round fabric as well. Let the glue cool completely.
Cut a long strip of felt for the scarf. Wrap the scarf around the container, carefully gluing some parts to the top of the round container. The scarf should cover the rim of the container and be attached to the top felt circle. Tie the scarf, trim as needed, and cut frings on the ends.
Cut a strip of felt to fit the bottom of the container. Glue the ends together to make a band that can be slid onto the jar.
Fill the jars with treats, and add a cute tag to them. These are so much fun to make and give during the holidays. Have fun crafting and creating!
