DIY Sweetheart Sign

Create your own beautiful wall decor for Valentine’s Day with this sweetheart wall decor DIY! Start with an unfinished wood base that you can personalize as you like. I love to mix and match textures and finishes, so I paired matte white paint with ultra shiny Opal Vinyl from StyleTech Craft to create this fun, eye catching piece!

Note about the wood base: You can purchase the cut file in my Etsy store HERE. This file can be used to cut MDF or wood using a laser cutter. You can also use it to cut chipboard with your Silhouette or Cricut cutting machine.

How to Make This Sign

  1. Cut all the base pieces out of MDF or your preferred material.
  2. Paint the scalloped border, the letters, and the hearts.
  3. Cut the Opal Vinyl to fit the back circle. Also cut multiple tiny circles out of the vinyl.
  4. Weed the vinyl. Use transfer tape to place the opal vinyl on the backing.
  5. Use transfer tape to apply the vinyl dots to the painted hearts.
  6. Assemble the decor using your favorite glue.
