I'm a big fan of bold, colorful wall art. As a crafter, I also like to coordinate my wall decor with the theme of the room. As I'm transitioning my son's room from a nursery to a preschooler's room, I'm keeping the color scheme but changing out the theme, and moving from a circus theme to a kaleidoscope of color. I drew inspiration from the colors in the curtain presently in the room to make a fun piece of wall art. I simplified the project by using Oly*Fun fabrics and a die cutting machine. … [Read more...]

DIY Pottery Barn Kids Inspired Star Light
Ever since I saw this light up star in Pottery Barn Kids catalog, I wanted to DIY my own. I used a star shaped chocolate box as the base for my own light up star. Repurpose a Suitcase into a No-Sew Pet Bed
I love crafting with repurposed items! It's such a thrill to take something that is no longer used and turn it into something useful and unexpected. When it came time to get a new pet bed for my dog, I decided to make my own...from a suitcase, of course! I used a hard shell case that I found at Goodwill San Antonio and made it into a one of a kind pet bed. … [Read more...]

Are you on the look out for a great, handmade father's day gift to make? These handmade key chains can be personalized with any name or message, and they're so easy to make that you can have several done in no time! Make an Anthropologie Inspired Bird House Village
I love lots of color and whimsy in my backyard, and I'm (very) slowly putting together a garden area that's inspired by the Mad Hatter's tea party in Alice in Wonderland. When I saw this garden sculpture at Anthropologie, I knew it would fit in with my "fantastical" garden. The price tag ($498!!!) was wayyy out of my budget, so I made my own. Here's how I did it. … [Read more...]

Make Custom Party Favor Bubble Bottles
How cute are these itty bitty colored bottles? I couldn't resist turning them into adorable party favor bubble bottles! Since these are glass bottles, they're not really appropriate for young kids, but they would be beautiful as favors or table decor for an outdoor wedding or maybe even a sweet 16 party. The bubble wands are easy to make, and while I opted for a heart shape, you could make other designs, too. (This post first appeared at Crafts Unleashed, where I am on the Design … [Read more...]
