Make your own Thing 1 and Thing 2 wig! This hilarious wig is lightweight and very easy to make.
Have you started planning your Halloween costume yet? Here’s a costume that’s perfect for pairs: Thing 1 and Thing 2! Keep reading to learn how to use Poly-Fil, Krylon Spray Paint, and items from Goodwill San Antonio to easily make this hilarious costume featuring popular characters from Dr. Seuss’ book The Cat in the Hat! (I have a no sew Cat in the Hat costume, too!)
- Knit cap (purchased at Goodwill)
- Poly-Fil Polyester Fiberfill
- Glue Gun
- Krylon Aqua Breeze Spray Paint
Step two: Place the cap on a round surface. I used a ball. Use the hot glue gun to adhere clumps of Poly-Fil to the cap. Use glue to help the clumps stick together, also.
I paired the wig with a Thing 2 shirt that was purchased at Goodwill San Antonio for just 99 cents! I see these shirts there often, or you could easily make your own with a red shirt. Isn’t my nephew adorable? This costume would be perfect for any age! I just love this Thing 1 and Thing 2 wig, and my nephew is rocking this costume.

This is adorable and so easy! I love anything Dr. Seuss. No little one’s anymore but inspiring none the less. I was thinking this would be a great way to make Marge hair (from the Simpson’s) for a costume. Just found you recently but am enjoying your post very much. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it! Marge Simpson would be a hilarious costume, too!
Ahahaha. Too good!
Thank you!
Brilliant! Love these 🙂
Thanks so much!
