Springtime makes my thoughts turn to flowers and outdoor parties. As soon as it’s warm enough to head outside, that’s where I want to be! I love to watch my perennials come back, and to plant new flowers to fill in blank spaces in my garden, so flowers mean spring to me. I was inspired by floral wedding pomanders to create these simple to make floral party lanterns. These lanterns are perfect for any outdoor gathering!
Supplies Used to Make Floral Garden Lights:
Begin by hot glue the paper flowers all over the lantern. I started with the largest flowers first, then the medium flowers were glued on second. Finally, I filled in the gaps with the smallest flowers.
Next, glue the crystals between the flowers. I used a hot glue gun to hold everything in place. The crystals add a little shine and a touch of elegance, I think.
Finally, use a thread to hang one crystal from the center of the lantern at the base. This makes a pretty pendant to catch the light.
All that’s left to do now is to dangle one of the mini party lights in the lantern. I tied a mini party light onto a string, then tied the string onto the hanging hook at the top of the party lantern. The mini lights are very bright and they make the lanterns glow beautifully after the sun goes down. These easy to make lanterns are perfect for any garden party or wedding, and you can change the flower and lantern colors to coordinate with your theme.
