Make this geometric heart DIY art to create modern decor.
I hang this piece up every Valentine’s day, but always leave it up for all of the Spring season because it’s such a pretty pop of vibrant color on my walls. It’s really easy to make this piece once you have all the supplies! You can, of course, use different colors to make this match your decor or theme.

The triangle canvas came in a four pack, so to cut down on expenses I waited until all the canvas products were on sale and then purchased 5 packs. Shop around a different hobby stores to get the best deal. The multi packs are typically the best value. These were 8 inch triangles.

Basecoat 8 of the triangle canvases with Vintage Brass metallic paint. Don’t worry about being perfect with it…the glitter paint will cover most of it. It helps to have a base coat, though, to amplify the glitter paint color.

Basecoat 6 canvases with Pink Tourmaline metallic paint (this is a personal favorite! I love the color and shine, and it’s perfect for Valentine projects).

Paint the remaining 6 canvases with Silver metallic paint.

Paint on the first layer of Galaxy Glitter. In the color that corresponds with the base coat. Galaxy Glitter is a nice, chunky glitter paint but the color is more vivid and you need less applications when you use a metallic paint as a base coat.

Add another layer after the first one dries. Two layers is usually enough.

Arrange the triangles as pictured. Flip the whole thing over and staple all of the canvas triangles together. Add a hanger when you are done so you can hang the project.

You can cut paper or fabric to cover up the staples on the back if so desired.

I originally published this project on the DecoArt site as a member of their team.
