Learn how to paint your own kawaii sunbrella! Transform inexpensive plain white umbrellas using paint to create the cutest sunbrellas. Make one for yourself, as a gift, or to use as party favors. This would make a great camp or group activity, too!
Kawaii Sunbrella Supplies Used
- White umbrellas
- Carousel Pink Multi-surface or Fabric Paint
- Lamp Black Multi-surface or Fabric Paint
- Snow White Multi-surface or Fabric Paint
- Sour Apple Multi-surface or Fabric Paint
- Angle Brush for eyes and circles
- Wide Flat Brush for larger areas
Tip: When the first layer of paint has dried, add a second one. Two applications is enough to achieve an even finish.
I used round objects of various sizes to lightly pencil in my design for the faces. Two different sized drinking glasses were used to draw the frog’s eyes. The end of a paint bottle was used to draw the cheeks. A ruler was used to make the lines for the frog’s mouth, and a small bowl was used to draw the panda’s curved mouth.
Start with the Snow White paint to fill in the appropriate areas of the eyes. Use an angle brush to make clean, curved lines.
Paint the cheeks with the Carousel Pink paint.
Use the Lamp Black paint to fill in the mouths and parts of the eyes.
Paint the frog umbrella with Sour Apple paint. Paint around the facial features.
Let the kawaii sunbrellas dry completely before closing them. These cute umbrellas are perfect for the beach, standing in line, or anywhere else you want to look cute in the shade. Have fun crafting and creating your own adorable kawaii sunbrellas this summer!
