Bring some extra holiday cheer to your front door with this adorable Buddy the Elf wreath tutorial! This festive DIY project combines soft plush elements, a handmade sign made with StyleTech Craft vinyl, and a custom wreath base to create a whimsical decoration straight out of the movie Elf. If you love crafting décor that’s totally unique — and totally customizable — this project is perfect for you.

One of the best parts of making your own wreath is customizing it exactly the way you want. Choose your favorite Style Tech Craft vinyl colors, adjust the size to fit your space, and give your Elf-inspired plush any color clothing you like. Whether you go classic Christmas or full-on candy-colored whimsy, this project adapts to you.

How This Project Comes Together
In this craft, you’ll start by covering your wreath base and preparing the soft plush components. The Elf-inspired plush pieces are simple to sew, even for beginners, and adding Poly-Fil® Fiber Fill gives them a cute, puffy, handmade look.

Next, you’ll create a fun holiday sign to tie the theme together. You can use classic phrases inspired by Elf, playful colors, or whatever fits your style. I went with the word “JOY”. Cut the design from various glitter vinyl sheets.

Weed the design and transfer each piece to the wood backer for the sign.

After that, it’s all about assembling the pieces on your wreath for a polished, cheerful finished look.
