While designing my jute flower bouquet I tried different ways to cut, fold, and paint my jute ribbon. My “rejects” were too pretty to throw away, so I incorporated them into this fun wreath, complete with vintage ribbon!
Keep reading to learn how to make this cute little wreath!
I started with a square of jute ribbon.
Fold in half.
Fold one corner up towards the center in an angle, as pictured.
Repeat the same thing on the opposite site, making sure they overlap slightly.
This makes one petal. I made six in all.
Use wire to hold your petals together, stacking them and pushing the wire through. Tie the wire to hold the flower together.
Place an upholstery tack in the center of a scrap of jute.
Push the tack into the center of the petals and arrange petals as desired. Dab white paint on the edges of the petals for contrast.
Make petals as shown in this tutorial and paint pink.
Wrap a foam wreath (mine is from the dollar store) in masking paper, then begin wrapping ribbon (I used three different vintage ribbons) around the form.
Use the upholstery tacks to adhere the jute flowers to the wreath.
Perfect for a shabby chic spring, I think!
