Nail art is cute, but who has the time or patience to do all those cute chevrons and squiqqles and designs?  Kudos to you if you can do that (I’m jealous!) but I know if I tried it my nails would look like this:

So, what’s a girl to do?  FAKE IT, of course.  I made these adorable, itty bitty flamingos from vinyl. (If you’ve missed out on my new flamingo obsession, click here for more flamingo fun.)  I decided that since I’ve used vinyl so much to make decals for my car (click here for zombie decals and here for Pac-Man), why not make vinyl decals for my nails?  Keep reading to learn how easy this project is.  I’ve received so many compliments on my nails, but the main reason I did it was to make people smile.  It’s hard to frown with cute itty-bitty flamingos around.

Supplies Used (may include affiliate links):

Step one:  Download the free flamingo template (link above).  Resize the image as desired.

Step two:  Cut the flamingos from the pink vinyl.  I cut two sets.

Step three:  Weed the vinyl (peel off the excess vinyl) so you can see the flamingos.

Step four:  Paint your nails with a base color.  I used white. Let the nail polish dry.

IMG_3225Step five:  Stick the vinyl flamingos on your nails.  If the legs are too long, trim the ends off.
